BBQ and Fidalgo Bay Care Center Ride - Ride Synopsis |
Skagit Powersports hosted their monthly BBQ on August 22, 2009 and Chapter 154 members again lent their help cooking and serving the food while accepting donations to the "Feed The Children" charity. $97.90 was collected for this fine charity and will be added to the fund. Members helping out at this BBQ were JohnG, JerryT, Roy and Gloria, Zippo and Jax, Perry, and Laurie and Robert. We all had a good time visiting with the customers and catching up on bike and family talk. After the BBQ, JohnG, Zippo and Jax, Perry, and Laurie and Robert rode over to meet Jamie at the Fidalgo Bay Care Center where Jamie works. Jamie and others had invited Chapter 154 to the Center to meet and visit with some of the residents. We had a good time chatting with the seniors and showing them our bikes and gear. The seniors also seemed to get a kick out of talking with us and viewing our bikes and the weatrher was perfect for the visit on this day. After a final lap around the parking lot and a wave to the residents we were off for a short but pleasant ride to SnowGoose where we enjoyed their marvelous homemade ice cream in their fantastic homemade waffle cones. This place definitely gets high marks from us! After our treats and some visiting we were off home in our various directions but we look forward to returning to SnowGoose in the future! |
